WHY DID YOU GUYS CLOSE DOWN???? I LOVED YOUR FOOD PLEASE COME BACK literally came here 2x this past month and got some of the best food I've had in PA. next thing I knew it was closed down
Solid food - been here a few times now and it's always trusted spot for finding large group reservations at the last minute. We were about 11 people on this evening and ordered a whole variety of food, a lot of which we brought back home as their portions are healthy. Can't go wrong with this one.
We had two meals here on the holiday. The food is wonderful! Recommend:Teriyaki King Salmon, Hong Kong Noodles
I was craving Chinese food. I did a search and I was caught between this restaurant and another. This one won obviously. I like the vibe of the restaurant: soft lighting, not loud, very chill on the inside. I ordered: SPICY CHILI WONTONS- Good, served with a ton of cilantro. I think you get six. The sauce wasn't spicy at all. Like one reviewer mentioned more sweet. BEEF CHOW FUN- This is the reason I came here. From the pictures alone I could tell it was going to be good and I wasn't disappointed. Noodles were not dry, well seasoned, beef was very tender and a great portion. BASIL CHICKEN- ordered this to go. It was phenomenal and flavorful. Jalapenos, mushrooms, onions and basil. So delightful! Packaging leaked a bit but nothing too major. Please note this is an a la carte item. I was told all their menu options (excluding noodle dishes) are a la carte so if you are accustomed to rice as an accompaniment for example basil chicken dish, you have to order rice as a side. Service was great! They kept my water cup full and checked on me. The main bartender was working a wedding so I wasn't able to order my amaretto sour. My waitress told me only what was on cocktail menu because the person working the bar tonight was not knowledgeable in all drinks.
(Overall: 98% | A) - I recently learned that my favorite Chinese restaurant has closed so these are the last dishes I have that I wanted to share before they are lost forever... :( The restaurant has a fantastic ambience and the servers are incredibly respectful, friendly, and patient so this is truly a shame and a big loss for Palo Alto :( (Mu Shu Pork: 100% | A+) - The mu shu pork here is exceptional! The cabbage has such vividness and texture to bring freshness to the dish and the pork is so incredibly tender. This is all paired with their signature pomagranate hoisin that also makes this the best mu shu I've ever consumed. With Mandarin Roots being gone, hopefully one day I can replicate this dish in memory. (Beef and Broccoli: 95% | A) - This is a very traditional Chinese dish that is elevated. I love how the chinese broccoli is tender, yet keeps texture. Additionally, this chunkier version of beef adds tenderness that highlights the quality of beef! Really well done.
